These terms are for your hire agreement with Lambeth District Scouts. By submitting the booking form, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions set out below.

1. About the minibus

The bus is a Peugeot Boxer REG LF64 XWZ. It seats 16 including the driver, and has:

• A wheel chair ramp (the back 3 seats need to be removed of you want to use it)
• Tow bar
• Sat Nav
• Reversing sensors
• Bluetooth
• Air conditioning
• Speed limiter to 62 MPH.

2. Hiring

• The bus can be hired by any Scout Group, District, County, Region etc, and Explorer Units.
• Bookings can be made via the Lambeth Scouts website: https://www.lambethscouts.org.uk/about-us/minibus. There is also a calendar view to check availability before submitting the booking form – this does not show personal details. The bus is booked on a first-come, first-served basis.
• Should a booking fail to turn up, or give less than 2 days or no notice of cancelling their booking, Lambeth Scouts reserve the right to charge 25% of the hire rate as a cancellation fee
• We reserve the right to reject, cancel or vary any booking if the purpose for which the vehicle is to be used is inconsistent with the aims and objectives of Scouting
• In the event of cancellation or change to a booking by Lambeth Scouts, no liability can be accepted for any loss, financial or otherwise, arising from our failure to provide a vehicle, and Lambeth Scouts cannot be held responsible for breach of contract in such circumstances

3. Drivers

Drivers must

• Be between 25 and 69 years old
• Have held their Category B (Car) Licence for at least two years
• Hold the D1 entitlement on their licence IF towing a trailer under 750kg
• Hold the D1+E entitlement on their licence IF towing a trailer over 750kg

4. Using the vehicle

• The bus is parked at Granton Primary School, Granton Road, London, SW16 5AN
• It is a secure parking are with key fob entry. Once a booking is confirmed, we will arrange key collection and drop off.
• If a booking is over a weekend, a personal vehicle can be left in the secure car park over the weekend.
• Please check the bus on pick-up for any pre-existing damage or cleanliness concerns, and log these.
• Please return the bus to Granton Primary School at the end of your booking, and return the keys as arranged. The bus must be clear of litter and personal belongings on return. Please sweep and clean the bus to the same standard as on pick-up.
• Please leave the bus with the same level of fuel as when you collected it.
• The hirer is responsible for any fines, tickets, tolls, or other charges during the booking.
• The bus is exempt from the TfL Congestion Charge and ULEZ – you will not need to pay these
• The bus can be used in bus lanes, as long as they are not marked for ‘Local buses’
• Smoking, vaping, and eating are not permitted inside the bus.

5. Charges

• A 25% deposit is required within 7 days of booking to secure your hire
• Invoices for the full amount will be issued within 30 days of completion of the hire – payment is required within 30 days
• Lambeth Scouts reserves the right to request payment or a deposit in advance where it deems necessary
• Lambeth Scouts reserves the right to add surcharges to the invoice in the following circumstances:
  • Damage to the vehicle – repairs will be charged to the user unless caused by a 3rd party (e.g an accident not your fault) and insurance claims are involved.
  • Cleaning fee – a £60.00 cleaning fee will be issued if the bus is left in an unacceptable condition

6. General terms

• Lambeth Scouts reserve the right to change these Terms and Conditions without prior notice. You must always check the website prior to your hire for the most up-to-date version
• The bus does not have breakdown cover provided
• A copy of the insurance documentation is kept in the glove box, or is available on request from the District Team
• Please report any incidents while using the bus immediately to the District Team via hello@lambethscouts.org.uk
