As our District undergoes an exciting transformation period, we are now looking for volunteers to support a number of areas across Lambeth. If you are interested in joining us, please fill out the form at the bottom of the page.
Across Scouting, there is an emphasis on flexible volunteering – if you see a role or task that would suit you, but you are not sure of the commitment required, please get in touch! For everything below, we will ensure you are supported to devote as much or as little time as you have.
It will take time to get these support systems in place and build up our District Team. When opportunities become available – they will be posted here – but if you feel there is a way you could help out that isn’t listed, we’d love to hear from you!
Roles
Under the new membership structure, Districts will be composed of teams which focus on particular areas. Rather than having specific tasks for each role, tasks are shared among the team.

Tasks
We recognise there are many volunteers who wish to support the District, but already give a lot of their time to Scouting. Rather than taking on a new role or joining a new team, you can simply take on a specific task.
Some examples;
Welcome Conversation Volunteer – you’ll help give new volunteers a warm welcome and engage them in a meaningful conversation. You’ll answer any questions they have at the start of their journey, and make sure Scouts is right for them.
Nights Away Assessor – review and carry out technical assessments for Nights Away Permits, as part of the process needed for adult volunteers to take young people on memorable residential and camping experiences.
Award Nominations Support – review award nominations. Decide if the nominated person should get the award, then support or approve it.
