(Region) Trustee Connect – London

Dear Scouting Colleagues,

The London Region team are delighted to announce that we will be holding a special day “Trustee Connect” for Lead Volunteers and Trustees from across the London Region to meet and talk about the latest development for Trustees. The day will also provide opportunities to share your views and help shape the way that Trustee Boards from across London provide effective governance and support.

Trustees are the backbone of Scouting, often working behind the scenes to ensure our activities and facilities are safe and compliant thus facilitating some great Scouting for young people. This conference will bring together Trustees from all of our Counties and Districts to share good practice, build upon what we have today and help shape our activities into the 2030’s.

We are firming up the agenda and are planning to include:

• Safety and Compliance
• What makes good governance
• Fraud prevention
• Supporting Group Trustee Boards

We are enlisting a range of speakers from HQ and beyond to deliver an interesting, informative day (and hopefully some fun)!

When: Saturday 10th October 2026

Where: The St Marylebone CE School Sixth Form Centre, 14 Blandford Street, London W1U 4AZ

Time: Registration from 08.45am for a 9.30am start, the day will finish by 4.30pm

Travel: The school is located in Marylebone. Car Parking in the area is quite limited so we suggest using public transport as far as possible.  The school is within easy walking distance of Baker Street or Bond Street Stations.

Accessibility: The conference will be on multiple floors within the building. There is a lift for use in case of any mobility issue.

Dress: Casual dress, feel free to wear a Scout scarf if you wish.

Food: Refreshments will be available.  Lunch will be a variety of sandwiches, please let us know if you have any specific dietary requirements on the booking form. We would encourage you to stay hydrated during the day, so please bring a water bottle.
